HANGING WITH THE GIRL SCOUTS

A couple of weeks ago I had the privilege to attend a Girl Scouts event. I was invited to participate in this event, it focused on teaching girls it's "good to be a girl". I spoke to the them about dreaming big, supporting one another and staying positive. In addition to speaking, I also arranged an activity, we all made a little handbag!

Thank you so much to the GS for inviting me!! I had so much fun.

Photoshoot

There is a lot of work involved when doing a photoshoot.

--creative direction, makeup, wardrobe, setting, product, hair, props, exc...

While doing our spring/summer 2011 photo shoot, everything above had to be on-point.

As I brainstormed and made story boards to help sort through and create a clear vision, I came up with a name for our shoot that helped clarify the direction of our campaign. The name: Organic Fairytale.

The photoshoot took place on a beautiful piece of property while spring 2010 was in full-bloom. I wanted the story to be easily understood, but still "fashion-esk", and because it was obviously for spring/summer I wanted things to look light, fun and enchanting.

For makeup, hair and clothing I decided to have a very natural look, and concentrate the energy and eye towards the setting and of course, the handbags. Above is a great picture from KREBSBACH SPRING/SUMMER 2011 photoshoot.

New York Showroom

A SLIVER OF OUR NEW YORK SHOWROOM

As many of you may know, we have strategically partnered with a really incredible company in NYC. We now have a team out in the big City, full-time, which has proven to be very helpful!!

You may wonder how this strategic partnership came about....right? Well, divine intervention, actually. A little over a year ago, I was sitting in the lobby of Teen Vogue waiting to show my collection to the Accessories Editor there, a women came up to me and asked if she could take a peek at the collection. Of course, I agreed. She thought the collection was great, after a few moments we parted ways, she didn't have a card, but I gave her mine. Not knowing who she was, I was excited she liked the collection but didn't think too much about it. Then I received a call from her months later, asking me to fly to New York, I did.....turns out she's a pretty big deal....While I was back in the City, learning about her, I showed the collection, to her and her associates and now we have a really cool relationship with a billion-dollar company.

Wild, right? That's why you have to continue to keep the faith!

Say hello to my weekend co-pilot....Wrigley.

She is my way of relaxing on Saturdays. We get up in the morning, walk, drink coffee and cuddle on the coach.

What do you do on the weekends to relax? Do you have someone or something that you spend each weekend with?

Brianna Krebsbach's story is unlike many other designers that are able to create great product. Unscathed by the cynicism of New York fashion, Brianna works, lives and creates her luxury handbag line, Krebsbach, in a rural Midwestern town in Minnesota. Miles away from local markets and stores, her creativity is unaffected by the noise of trend-drenched publications, magazines and blogs. Rather, Brianna's want to create thoughtfully, detailed handbags evolves from the center of allowing the women wearing them to feel confident.

For the Krebsbach Spring 2011 collection, the shapes are bold and evoke a sense of strength, my favorite being the tribal embossed duffle. The Italian leather is tough enough to weather all seasons of use. All hardware that embellish the bags in the collection are triple-dipped brass. Each handbag has its own personality with sensible functions. After all, we all want a bag that looks great and serves the purpose of lugging all the crap we need, including the kitchen sink.

Brianna was recently approached by Wilson's leather to create a diffusion line of her collection line geared to the career woman called Vivian Kay, which will be available on www.wilsonsleather.com and select Wilson's locations in November. I'm anticipating a winning success with the Krebsbach brand. For more information log onto www.bkrebsbach.com.
